This thing is a T Rex. It will cut 1/4" steel with relative ease. Cutting does require some effort and like all abrasive saws eats blades but it does a good job and will give a straight cut that looks good and is easy to true up. The saw is heavy so I would not suggest using it in any but a horizontal cut.
